learned that after weeks of waiting for access, the fbi has now come and gone from benghazi in the last 24 hours investigating that attack on the u.s. consulate that killed our ambassador to libya and three other americans. u.s. military provided back-up to the fbi team on the ground. what happened there, who may be responsible and what the obama administration has said about it is a growing issue in the presidential campaign. and after a syrian shell landed in turkey on wednesday killing five women on impact and then turkey fired back, the turkish parliament today approved possible broader military action against syria. this is one to watch. turkey says this is not a declaration of war, but a warning that turkey will defend itself. syria has now apologized nota y notably, but this incident has raised grounded fears of a wider war. amon is on the ground tonight in turkey. we've put some of his reporting on our website tonight. >>> still ahead as we continue, new research this evening about a chemical we all come in contact with that has raised questions before. this time, the conce

to the fbi information. the fbi says what he was doing was purchasing very sophisticated electronics which are very useful in building weapons systems and weapons guidance systems and also radar systems. the electronics use a special licence. the allegations are that he was falsifying documents or not obtaining them at all and shipping all the electronics the moscow and then distributing them the weapons manufacturers, aircraft manufacturers, and to the successor to the kgb. analysis suggests that these electronics can be used in russian-made anti-ship missiles and fighter jets. they are buying electronics in america for those purposes. there has been a letter produced as part of the evidence in the case which seems to be from the ssb complaining that a batch of tips that had been provided by his company were faulty. that the evidence being presented to the judge. we will have to wait and see what the defendant has to say about it. >> that will be something to watch. thank you. still to come in the program, the job search is just beginning. we will hear how american gradu

news out of libya. the fbi confirmed agents from the bureau visited the site of the last month's deadly attack from the consulate in benghazi. pete williams joins us live from washington. we heard the fbi could not get in because it was such a dangerous situation. what do you have for us now? >> today they did aaccompaccomiy special forces from the u.s. military who secured the compound while the agents went in and tried to exploit what evidence they could. it's been three weeks since the ambassador was shot. attorney general holder was asked today, and he said he believes the investigation is going well because of all the other work that the fbi and other investigative agencies have been doing talking to witnesses. he says there's lots of things going on outside of benghazi, and that he believes the investigation is progressing satisfactorily. obviously, it would have been better. the fbi would have preferred fob in there earlier, but they believe this is not a huge setback. >> thank you very much. pete, greatly appreciate you updating us on the breaking news there it. next on "news na

. well, fbi agents today finally inspected the scene in libya where militants three weeks ago killed the u.s. ambassador and three other americans. according to the fbi, agents visited the u.s. consulate in benghazi and left a short time later. the associated press reports the agents and several dozen u.s. special operations forces spent about 12 hours at all relevant locations. the fbi would not report on what, if anything, they found. this comes after the "the washington post" newspaper reported that one of its journalists found sensitive documents in the compound sitting in plain sight. today the attorney general eric holder would not comment on those documents. >> i don't want to necessarily comment on that which is an ongoing matter. but i'm confident that through the steps that we are taking and that we plan to take that we will be able to exploit the scene as is appropriate and hold accountable those people who committed those dastardly acts. >> trace: meantime lawmakers say a state department official is set to testify that the administration shot down requests for extra security
